Hatch Presents: Santa’s Grotto

For the first time, Hatch produced work by an artist outside of the context of a platform event. For the Sneinton Showcase and Christmas Market, we commissioned Nottingham-based artist Meg Tait to create a Santa’s Grotto. Meg devised a durational performance for a production line of santas as a shrewd commentary on the way in which Christmas has become commercialised. The Hatch santas spent eight hours stitching festive mementos to be taken away by passers-by. You can see more photos here.
